Tell Congress: NO BAILOUTS!

This suggestion comes from our great friends Tim and Jonna Ryan in Cartersville. It is imperative that we all act now, and keep it up. Our republic is at risk. At the very least, we risk a Greater Depression by nationalizing the debt of investment banks and mortgage lenders. Please, follow the advice below, tailored to your own representatives and local media. Program the numbers of your Representative and your Senators into your cell phones and call them tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that, and give them this message: "The bailouts must not pass Congress, and the U.S. Treasury and the Federal Reserve must be stopped from doing the same. WE WILL VOTE AGAINST YOU IF YOU VOTE FOR THEM." Ask all of your friends and family to do the same. Melt down the lines. We must not fail. Here's the list of congresscritters in Georgia.

Senator Saxby Chambliss, (202) 224-3521
Senator Johnny Isakson, (202) 224-3643
GA01 Representative Jack Kingston, (202) 225-5831
GA02 Representative Sanford Bishop, (202) 225-3631
GA03 Representative Lynn Westmoreland, (202) 225-5901
GA04 Representative Hank Johnson, (202) 225-1605
GA05 Representative John Lewis, (202) 225-3801
GA06 Representative Tom Price, (202) 225-4501
GA07 Representative John Linder, (202) 225-4272
GA08 Representative Jim Marshall, (202) 225-6531
GA09 Representative Nathan Deal, (202) 225-5211
GA10 Representative Paul Broun, (202) 225-4101

I'm sure you have all been watching with alarm as the events of last week unfolded. Hank Paulson has submitted an outrageous plan to nationalize the entire financial system and to put it under the control of one man: the Secretary! How can this be? There is no telling what transpired this weekend behind closed doors with certain members of Congress. Tomorrow please call your congressman and senator and talk radio. See Tom Ryan's advice below.

Also, check out Paulson's proposal and an explanation of Paulson's proposal.

Tom says:
I am asking all of us to make A LOT of noise first thing Monday morning. This Paulson plan is preposterous and a death nail for America, and we need our representatives know that we absolutely don't want it!

Freedom can't exist if there isn't a free market. These bankers want to shovel manure renamed as "illiquid assets" onto our heads by dictatorial edict, while they keep all the good stuff. What in the world is going on? They amplify money through fractional reserve, take all the massive profits, and dump the massive debts on us! Now that we are a few weeks away from an election they say "Emergency! Emergency! We need all your money within hours or life as we know it will end!"

Isn't it funny how there have been people (one in particular) telling them about this for years and all they did was stick him in the corner, put a dunce cap on him, and throw spit balls. Even a few weeks ago the talk-radio-republicans and the politicians told us everything was fine. In fact, they told us that anybody who suggested we were in a recession was just a "Bush basher."

Listen. The damage to the financial sector has already been done. The bubble is already blown up and repeated bailouts will not stop it from bursting. We've already given 1/2 trillion or more in the past month and what did it get us? The money is already lost. Let's not give them our freedom too.

This tactic is vintage GW Bush. Violate all rule of law and tradition with a scary emergency that only the government can fix. Can you imagine the outrage if Al Gore proposed this?

So, I ask you to commit to making as much noise as you can first thing Monday morning.

1. Call your Congressman and Senators and tell them what you think. This will only take 5 minutes.
2. Tell your spouse and friends to do the same.
3. Call AM 1270 (770-386-4656) between 6 and 9 AM and tell them what you think, and be sure to mention as many republican politicians as you can by name. They hate bad publicity, especially now, and this will get their attention. You can always get through and bring up the topic even if he is talking about something completely different.
4. Try to call other talk show hosts (Boortz, Kain, Clarke Howard, Hannity, Limbaugh) on Monday and if you get through be sure to mention the names of politicians up for election.

If my pep talk hasn't moved you enough, maybe section 8 of President Bush's "plan" he will send to congress will. I promise, these are the exact words.

Sec. 8. Review.
Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.
